This is a comment that I heard from another musician. I believe this is such a wonderful thought. If you are planning on surgery, ask your surgeon if you may have your choice of music in the operating room. Select beautiful classical music. If the hospital does not have the equipment, take a personal CD player or Ipod. Have the music also played in the recovery room. It has been proven that this music calms the mind and the body and increases your ability to heal.
